Are innovation and productivity antagonistic?

There is a strong consensus that invariably innovating we will make several mistakes until the process that is born of an idea is completed, until the conception of a product or service is marketed.

And it is true, we cannot delude ourselves with a sea of roses when what awaits us is a lot of work, a lot of uncertainties, a lot of resistance and almost always scarce financial resources.

From this perspective, individualized for each innovation project, the concept of productivity is not viable, because the goal is to generate something new and not manage the massification of something existing.

So, we conclude that there is really antagonism between innovation and productivity, but we cannot generalize, because generalizing is also an attitude that is antagonistic to innovation, which presupposes differentiation unprecedentedness, paradigms breaking.

But as we look at the perspective of the innovation ecosystem, the concept of productivity cannot be ignored, because if a huge chunk of the global market wants to innovate (about 25 percent in developed markets and 5 percent in other markets), don´t to be productive can be catastrophic, generating more rejection of innovation than the desire to innovate.

Innovating always generated a lot of waste (energy, time and money), this is because the Innovation market evolved into a global scale (what we call the age of innovation) before the innovation content was organized to help people proposes to innovate, whether entrepreneurs or professionals from established companies.

Without a clear theoretical foundation and with such a rapid growth rate, we have seen many projects fail, but this cannot happen forever.

Today we already have some respectable content about innovation, the result of the tacit knowledge of those who did it in practice, crossed with the explicit knowledge that is increasingly available, so we can already think about productivity in the innovation ecosystem.

This is where EZInnovTools is born, which be a tool hub for the innovation ecosystem, with the launch of its first product, EZwit, APP that analyzes risk in innovation projects (www.ezinnvotools.com).

EZwit performs an analysis using a sophisticated 3D algorithm with nearly 4 million combinations and guides the user on the risk of their innovation project, as well as making strategic and market suggestions.

The APP allows the participation of one, up to seven professionals, but even with all this complexity and its use is extremely simple, easy, easy-wit.

EZwit's conceptual underpinnings come from the tacit knowledge of more than 20 years of the algorithm development, testing in over 400 companies, of the explicit knowledge of six major universities around the world and ISO 31000 (risk norm) compliance, and ISO 56000 (innovation management standard).

So, from a risk standpoint, we can already think of being more productive in the innovation ecosystem.

EZInnovTools reinforces its position by contributing to the sustainability of the innovation ecosystem by providing tools that support all stakeholders in this market, and is already working on other productivity-enhancing solutions, reducing its antagonism to innovation, increasing thus harmony between these two concepts.
