Toowoon Bay Oceanswim

Many years ago we fell in love with Toowoon Bay, a lovely coastal town up the Central Coast. It was our first camping experience as a family in Australia in a Holiday Park.  Camping spots are very hard to get in those places. As such was that year when we decided to try camping to be able to be closer to the beach. Everything was full! I rung all camping grounds in a about two hour drive up and down the coast. NOTHING! Except when I rang Toowoon Bay, they had one spot left. It turned out to be the most beautiful spot on the whole camping ground. A grassy patch with flowers overlooking the beach.

We considered ourselves lucky and waking up with an astonishing view of the ocean in the morning, camping became a breeze and has so ever since. We just loved every bit of it! What's not to love as those camping grounds have mostly everything you need, toilets, showers, camp kitchen, jumping pillow and often a pool. All you got to do is pitch up your tents!

So when I discovered that Toowoon Bay also had a yearly ocean swim event we tried to fit that in the calendar. As such two years ago, my then ten years old and I both swum a race. They have a lovey 400 meter ocean swim for kids.

It was fun! As all you do in the morning is roll out of your tent stroll a few minutes down to the surf club, have a coffee on their deck, overlooking the bay and the beach and you are ready to race!

Looking forwards to a weekend of camping with the tribe, filled with swimming, surfing, watching clouds and zipping coffee ocean front.
