While my series on Oregon wine has delivered some very good wines recently (including a balanced rosé and a bold red blend, both from the Rogue Valley), it hasn't brought us a pinot noir from quite some time. The last pinot noir we enjoyed in this series was from the Chehalem Mountains AVA - the 2012 Estate Pinot about grown, produced & bottled by Alloro Vineyard.

The wine showed a light-medium ruby color. Cherry, raspberry, cranberry, loamy earth and oak could all be found on the nose. Cherry, cranberry, raspberry, currant, cranberry and oak followed on a berry-driven palate. The wine exhibited good structure and length, along with good acidity and well-integrated tannins. This wine would pair well with a grilled, brined, double-cut pork chop.
This wine can be purchased for $34* at the winery or directly from the winery's website.
