Great Plains Zoo
The zoo in Sioux Falls is small (45 acres) compared to many we have visited. Nonetheless, we thoroughly enjoyed our trip. The property is beautifully maintained - large grassy areas to relax/picnic, plenty of benches on which to rest, and some animals we had never seen before. A few of my favorite pictures below:
Front Gate
Giraffe Sculptures
Chilean Flamingoes
Status in the Wild: Vulnerable
Snow Leopard (did you know their teeth can grow up to 4 inches long?)
Status in the wild: Endangered
Eastern Black Rhino
Statu in the Wild: Critically Endangered
African Wild Dog

Falls Park
In the middle of the city of Sioux Falls is this beautiful park. The park covers 123 acres. An average of 7,400 gallons of water drops 100 feet over the course the falls each second.
